Our resort in Phi Phi was showing its age, yet it was still charming. We had a love/hate affair with the place, since we had a wonderful view, but it was very loud at night (although it never stopped us from sleeping). For work, there was a desk, but it was more of a vanity table than an office desk, and had little room. However, with a little ingenuity I managed to prop things up so everything would fit.
